Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
this thread is almost a year old. doug has always been one (from what i've seen) that likes to move stuff after awhile to make room, free up cash or whatever, to put towards new projects.
Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
If this is the same company I'm thinking of, the one that made a front wheel drive RC car, they did my first CF prototype chassis for the mid engine kit. I ended up going with Composite Craft.fredswain wrote:My friend Barry had a similar story. He started Bullet Racing when he was around 22ish or so and then Raborn Racing a few years later after Bullet. He too had his chassis and other graphite parts made for him by Composite Craft..

Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
i managed to pick up one of these chassis, just the chassis, a few years ago on ebay. most people think they are c.c. chassis because of the slots and list them as that, you have to really look at the sellers pictures to see the rear end hole orientation. that is how i got mine so cheap and i looked for a while to get it.

Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
Jason's got it right. I built this around a year ago but have had the parts for about 2 years. I wish I could keep everything but space and money don't allow it. Finding parts and coming up with builds is part of the fun for me. There are around a dozen RC10's in my collection that will never be sold though. It's enjoyable to see and build these aftermarket kits that I read about in magazines bitd. Just can't keep them all. Hopefully these and other builds that I have sold are enjoyed by other collectors.scr8p wrote:this thread is almost a year old. doug has always been one (from what i've seen) that likes to move stuff after awhile to make room, free up cash or whatever, to put towards new projects.

Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
Hello everyone, Some of us over on Old School RC facebook page have started working on reproducing this kit together. Here is a sample of what is in the works. This is the only part I have done so far but I will be making the whole rear set, including the top piece, motor plate, and shock tower.
enjoy and please feel free to suggest anything you like.

these are the parts I will be making. The rear shock tower will be made with black carbon plate

Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
Two suggestions...modify it so that it can be used with a Stealth trans and add camber holes further in like a Team or World's car bulkhead.
ADDENDUM -Third suggestion...the ARP chassis was drilled for midmotor but since there's a bunch of people converting tubs maybe modify the mounting holes so they can use the 6 gear holes.

The ARP chassis was only MM and only drilled for the 6 gear. The new one will also have stealth holes.

Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
I will be adding holes for stealth mounting as well. It looks like it may interfere with the shock tower mounts. If that's the case I might have no choice but to change the design accordingly. (Move hole placement on upper bracket and shock tower) I believe this will be easy to resolve, it just won't be an exact copy of the original parts. I don't see this as an issue anyone will complain about if they can use a stealth transmission though. And about the extra holes for camber adjustments. That's easy. As long as no one apposes to it?
Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
I dont think that not having and exact copy would be a problem for anyone, Im assuming everyone wants something thats updated and works well, but you may have period history guys with a shelfer that may want it exact? Guess well have to wait and see.

Re: Advanced Racing Products RC10 Mid
It's easy enough to make exact replica versions for those guys.
