Taking a Raider to the next level.... (aint saying much!)
Wanted to try this for a while now. Material is scrap and it's far from perfect but the concept is there. Now to find a decent Raider to build up

that was my thought when I recently picked one up, I thought it would be an interesting car for a vonats classic racer, being held on high grip indoor clay nowadays.Lonestar wrote:This is weird but I like it! MM are all the rage anyway...

I have a doner if you need parts. I was going to rebuild it but have lost interest. I like what you have brewing though...

Yes Dennis these are on the new router:-)
Not sure about modern wheels but aren't most 12mm these days? Front is compatible with a associated tq wheel with 5/16 bearing, not sure if anything uses that still tho

You could use Rocky knuckles to run hex wheels up front.gomachv wrote:...

Would this be considered the Oregon Raider and not the California Raider?
I remember always wanting a Raider after seeing the big ads for them in Tower catalogs.

The Kyosho Optima is the car that invented the 12mm hex that's become a standard wheel fixing. The difference is that they fitted on a tapered shaft rather than using a cross pin.kaiser wrote:oh, I thought they might have been that odd 10mm hex, didn't optimas and optima mids have a 10mm, or am I insane?

True, but the ones with holes in the axles bitd tended to break at said hole also. I never had much trouble with the taper systems
