YZ10 810 Dogfitghter? Brand new!

Post by Barber420 »

Hi. I'm new to this forum, but not new to RC (27 years experience. My first RC was a Lunchbox, I still have, I built when I was six in 1987). I should've discovered this forum years ago, but that's neither here nor there. I'm a huge and avid Associated collector. My goal is to have one of every model ever made, NIB (but I'll take it out and build it), and one to run. :D I recently got this car in a big lot. I bought the lot cheap, five vintage cars for $75, because at a quick glance I noticed a new B3, which I was lacking, in the lot. Once I got it home and looked at it, I noticed a vintage Yokomo I knew had to be worth big bucks! I had planned to sell it to buy more vintage Associated parts or cars, but then I did some digging... From the little information I've found, this appears to be a Yokomo YZ-10 810 Dogfighter, but I may be wrong. I know nothing about Yokomo, aside from the motors they made for AE. However, the little digging I did do seemed to point to this having been imported and distributed in the US by AE, and that it was the first real 4wd 1/10 race buggy. If this is the case, it's associated with Associated (lol), so I will keep it. At this point, I'm trying to see what knowledge I can gain from the brilliant minds I've seen here. Once I saw actually Associated guys like Curtis were on here, I was sold on this place!!!!! I'm going to post pictures momentarily. Give me a few.
48 Associated cars ranging from RC12i and newer; plus another 30 or 40 others. :D

Ok, I can not get it to upload attachments, no matter how I try. :( Any tips? Am I not allowed to do that yet?

Probably too big. It takes a pretty small picture to upload here. Either turn down the resolution or you can use a program like photobucket

Thanks! I'll retake them in lower resolution and try again. Since they're going to be lower resolution, keep in mind, this is brand new and unrun. So much so, that the aluminum has corrosion from sitting in a storage unit so long. lol It'll be easy to clean up though. However, I'll probably never will, and just leave it as is, originally assembled. :D

I can't make it work, and don't have a photobucket account. It's too late to open one now, so I'll do it sometime tomorrow. I'm very curious to get all of the information on what I may have! It's so well built (I'm anal and usually hate other peoples build quality) and is bone stock, but loaded with period correct electronics! Even the spur was pure until I hooked a battery to it and made sure everything worked. lol
