Original style F.H.M.S. hardware?
Anyone have a source for original style 8-32 screws, or a large stash? I know this has been discussed elseware but couldn't find it. After snapping the head off of a worlds re-re screw I cant risk the unreliability. Are there any sources for original type hardware like the old goldish/green colored screws. I see AE has two different part numbers listed for the screws, I've bough both part numbers before to figure out which but I've since used them and can't remember.
I have a couple packs of I think Yokomo 8-32 steel screws that I can use but rather stay OEM if I can.

I'll have to google it again.
One looked like the cheap off center stamped screws that come with the worlds cars. (16 in a pack maybe)
The others look much better, lighter in color, screw stampings are centered and the screws look anodized. 6 - 10 in a pack if I remember?

Hi RJ,
Looks like I have one part # for you,
I have 6280 8-32 x 1/2, 16 of them.
First one I took a look at, the screw stamping is off center.
Second one the same.
Dave.

Re: Original style F.H.M.S. hardware?
I recently ordered both because I wanted the original style but unfortunately they are all the same now,I ordered both from tower... The other part number is ASC3324 for the half inch size along with the 6280 in the same size.. Unless you can see and touch them before you buy count on getting the new inferior type unfortunately.. If you search local shops near you maybe you will get lucky and find some of the old ones

That's interesting; I hadn't heard that the 'new' screws were inferior. I like the new dark olive colour, but if they break, that's no good. Has anyone busted the blue FT screws on the track? I have found that they are much fatter at the head and don't sit flush in most chassis without additional countersink. I have stripped the blue off of all mine!
