Bringing this back from the dead, if people are throwing tamiya hub carriers on the front, has anyone tried some tamiya front knuckles on and some tamiya unis as a way of converting the car to 12mm hex. This might be sacrilege to some but wheels are hard to come by, even yokomo rims and wheel "hexes" are thin on the ground too. This is for a runner of course, no shelf queens here

I have used top force dogbones and axles in tomy intruder. Just use stock knuckles from tomy, and an O ring inside diff drive hubs if needed to reduce slop.

thanks rccars4cal, I found that in another thread where I think you were trialling db01 shafts too. i'll try all that out, I just picked up an intruder.

The other thing im trying to work out is are the touring car parts interchangeable like the main shaft, diffs, bulkheads

OK I've been reading a fair bit more about Tomys and this thread then It dawned on me because i couldn't work out how those square rear hubs worked given that on my intruder the hubs have a lot of offset rather than the inner bearing being almost in line with the hinge pin. It's because the EX had the wider arms. Obviously it uses the same drive shafts so the width is corrected in the hubs. So the question is do I try and make arms to match the EX dimensions or find hubs that have the offset to work with the standard intruder

I wouldnt have any idea what hubs and offsets would be compatible with either Tomy model. Think its wriiten somewhere that kyosho optima c hubs and knuckles fit on front of 2 lower models,, perhaps deep off set lazer parts would fit with the ex model?

Ebay seller hiiq has a stock pile of low level xpress cars. I have been tempted to buy one of those and see what all is compatible. Thats who I bought my first intruder adonis from NIB about 10 years ago for a hundred bucks!
