Actually I don't want to run it...not for the moment :)

I already have the RPM's...but I will order a set of Losi ball cups then compare, check what looks better :)

I don't have experience with the losi ball cups (btw.: I've never driven a Losi before  ) but I remember that back in time the Losi drivers used to replace the losi ball cups (on XX cars) by RPM or AE ball cups....

Cheers,
Daniel

Today I was bored, so I've made some progress... my day started with this lol (sorry guys, I forgot to take some "before-pix")

Image

Started to clean the parts I would reuse, then assembling the car... It's pretty exhausting reading the manual and the addendum in addition ^^

Image

The chassis plate is new. Maybe some of you guys already saw it here on rc10talk. I got it from Jamin. It's kinda special because the Graphite logo is inverse.

Already fitted the front arms and shock towers. Also have new build shocks lying here... I'm still waiting for some hardware, I hope it will arrive in the next days :)

The car came with some goodies like MIP CVD's, Associated titanium turnbuckles, Trinity servo mount, Trinity motor mount, Trinity shock bushings and Trinity shock collars....and I have more stuff lying here 8) just missing some outdrive savers :|

More progress, more pictures...

I wanted to use a new set Losi shocks I bought a few years ago for my X6. I remember they were from a XX or XXX 2wd buggy. I supposed they were the same as the XX-4 shocks but I was wrong...the rear XX-4 shocks are longer.

The xx-4 shocks are pretty worn out. I have to replace the 4 shock shafts, cartridges...the front shock bodies had have better days. I'm still waiting for some hardware, tires and the Losi super duty cups to complete the buggy.

A clean xx4 is a thing of beauty. Still IMO the best thing ever to come from Team Losi.

Small update: I installed the white Losi super duty ball cups, trinity rear hubs and cleaned and rebuilt the shocks. These shocks are provisionally, I'm waiting for other ones... As you can see I polished the spring on the outer side :)

Now I'm just missing the 1550 parts (bellcrank, linkage...) and period correct tires (Ifmar Pin or Taper Pin). Tomorrow I will trim the body properly and apply the decals. Maybe I will replace the shiny bones...too much bling in my opinion :)

Question: does anybody tried to dye these white/beige losi parts? (steering link, servo arms...)

Some pictures... I love these curves lol

Yes! Use the RIT brand of powdered dyes in your choice of colour as per the box instructions and the white/ beige parts take the dye just fine. If it's any help, I started a thread in the R/C Tech forum on using a microwave oven to dye parts.

Here's the link: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=33034

That's cool, thank you for the information! I will try this method.

I think the beige losi parts won't look good on this car :)
