Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
has anyone found any other UJ / CVD shafts that fit?
Seem like the genuine Kyosho ones are hard to find as well as pricey

Can't help on what else might fit, just checked jason's store and he is out of the uni's.
I checked with the big k and they said more will be released in the next couple of weeks, seems to be the standard answer.
Really hope they do make more hop ups available, been holding out to start building mine, seems banzai has the most parts right now, made 1st order with them, got it in 7 days, pretty quick I think.

I have some parts in my Banzai shopping cart, wasn't sure if I should buy, good to know they ship quickly.scootmike wrote:Can't help on what else might fit, just checked jason's store and he is out of the uni's.

I'm guessing that was EMS though?

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
I've completed most of the steps on my build and I have a few questions:
- Did anyone bitd use titanium for the front end?
- Should I add spacers/washers to the front towers to clear the bulge on the chassis rails?

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
Until such a time as I make new frt. towers, I had to use 2 mm. spacers on the towers as the factory 'pinch' was body-damaging and just not correct, the flare at the bend is inconsequential (I'm not the "It'll work" type.
) It required removing the screws, driiling the crossbar, towers & rails, & tapping rails & crossbar 4-40 to accept longer hardware. If you have some 16 mm. M2.6 screws you can just swap rears to front & longer ones on the rear holes to use spacers, but it's a bastard thread for sure. Seems too much trouble to most but now mine is as I think it should be.

Yes, where the shock towers mount. For titanium, I was thinking for the steering and the little upper links for the front suspension.

So I have been looking around and I have not found a matching paint for the polycarbonate body.
What have people been using for the box art look?
Thanks,

Someone on another forum said to use Tamiya PS-6 yellow backed by PS-2 red to reduce the brightness.

Just a few coats of straight PS-6 not backed with white looks fine to me. That is what I used.

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
Finally got mine!
And, I got it for free, sort of. My wife surprised me with it as an anniversary gift. Of course it'll get built. No point in keeping it in a box for 20 years and hoping it'll be worth a bunch to someone else.
Besides, A-Main tore the box lid in front of the rear tire! Ruined!

In 20 years you can list the box on Ebay as "2014 SCORPION BOX FACTORY RIPPED BY YUICHI KANAI HIMSELF!!!"
