Way back on page 29 I asked if a bit could be ground off the ball to loosen things up: Do you guys not listen to me because I'm not Japanese?
(I KNEW IT....) By the way, HOW do you know that I'm not Japanese? Chris REC

It can be ground but you shouldn't have to! Just use the old instruction manual and it shows you how to free it up (center it!)

Hey! No logic here!
I think we can agree it's not an error, but the tolerances ARE a tad snug. Not to kick a dead dog, but compared to the RC10 Gold pan, you throw the parts in the air & they land perfectly assembled. Here's to Big K-San doing a LOT more re-re's if this is what we can expect! Chris REC

I'm pretty sure that diff outdrives are not correctly machined. The slot for the dog bones pin are deep enough but not the center bore. I remove a few material with a round drill bit (very few, 0.5 mm) and I have no more binding.

Bangered out a wing for m'self, same size as the Scorpion wing. Not sure if they'll be a product or not (?) The last time I offered wings they did not do great: If you chaps want to see Scorp wings, do let me know (I have mine

Wing is sweet. You should do the metal wing mount with the circles on it like what's on the turbo.

+1 on the aluminum wing mount. The Scorp needs the aluminum wing! It just looks "right" on there! Nice work

My scorpion was delivered today from Amain. I need to figure out if I'm going to tomahawk it or change the radio box and wing.

Hi everyone,
Apologies if this has been covered earlier in this thread but I don't have time to read all 34 pages!
My question is... are the new drivetrain parts (counter, spur, diff etc) compatible with the original. I have a Turbo Scorpion that I have restored but I'm reluctant to hammer it because the nylon original gears are so damned hard to replace. I see this as being a convenient way to get my old car from the 80's back out doing what it was designed to do.
Cheers!
Mike

No, pitch is different. It's the same layout but you would be a candidate for the complete retrofit trans- it drops into the old car and is complete. Alternately there are people breaking up the car in eBay, you might find a complete trans there too
Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
Thanks Gomachv. I had thought about that. Not a bad idea - put the old one to one side. To be honest, that approach is pretty consistent with the rest of my car, so I have no problem with it. I have added vintage hop-ups and some hand made stuff, but I have also kept all of the original parts in excellent condition so I can return it to original whenever I want.
HOW EXCITING!!!
