Pulled my 10t out of storage...

Post by skinnyj »

Here is my 10T from '93 (I think...)

I'm hoping to get it up and running again. Right now I'm working with a 20 year old battery, radio and charger. Will it accept the more modern running gear?

You can definately fit modern running gear in it. Many of us here run full brushless and lipo systems in our vintage Associated cars. You should be able to find many examples here. You can take a look at the link in my signature to see mine if you like.

That's good because I just took it for a test run and my Trinity 7 cell lasted a little over two minutes. I think that vintage battery is done.

Also, it's funny to hear these cars referred to as "vintage". It feels like when I see an 80s Mustang GT with "Antique" plates.

If you rebuild the car, remove the loose ends (maybe update some parts), and put in new electronics, they should be pretty competitive.

I would doubt a worn out, tired car would be competitive.

Age is just a number :) Throw on a 'modern' body and no one will notice the difference.
