Have you considered making the taller roll bar for the Beetle? That would be a nice part to be able to get!

That's what I used in my Kyosho Beetle body. Didn't trim the clip though. Since I didn't have the roll bar, I spaced out the clip from the body using longer screws and 3mm plastic spares.TM Ru22311 wrote:Here is what I did for my Tommy. Those rear clips are impossible to find, so here is a nice alternative. I used a Team CRP Sand Scorcher clip and modified it with my Dremel. Fits greatOne thing I did was redrill the mounting holes to match the body. That way (by some miracle) if I ever did find an original clip, the holes in the body would line up.
I will say though, that clip is made of hardened steel and is a PAIN to cut down....but totally possible
Thank you ScootMike for telling me about this
For front post, I used a TC style body post and bored it out to fit over the tomahawk front body mount.
I also came to the realisation that the sand scorcher front mounts can work with the original style Kyosho servo saver. The new one however is a larger bore so it will not work.

I think I had to trim it down because of the way the Tomahawks body was made. Good info to know for future builds Raman, Thanks!

Would it have worked if you flipped the clip 180 degrees?TM Ru22311 wrote:I think I had to trim it down because of the way the Tomahawks body was made. Good info to know for future builds Raman, Thanks!

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
It probably would have. I may have cut it down to just make it look more like the original, but the pre-drilled holes don't match the ones in the body. So, you would have to drill those to match. I checked to see if Team CRP had them still available, but didn't see any

I have a Sand Scorcher body clip but I really don't like it. For the rear I used the supplied alloy body post, screwed on one of the uper transmission case hole.
Can't wait to run this one.

I who admittedly seldom score rare items at the right moment or at a decent price, happened on a NIP Towmahwak SC-72 window net, rear exhaust pipe, side mirror and flood lights. Very soon they will be sitting a top my TBG Tomahawk.

I used a 4x40mm screw, reduced to 38mm lenght 3mm diameter on the top and drilled. Then heated to 5-600°C and cooled in oil to have the black finish.Raman wrote:Smart! I like it. I have a Tomahawk-Beetle rear body clip I could send for repo.toyranosaur wrote:The SS rear body clip?Chris REC
I agree with TM Beetle parts would be great!
Also have Beetle front body mount and roll bar, if you decide you want to do them.

The bods do exist, so possibly! Can you post a pic of these parts for me/us? Depending, I'm thinkin' the rear could be made from Delrin. My seeing them, I can tell pretty quick if it's something doable. BTW, the Scorpion roof panel order info & giveaway will be posted in my forum here shortly. Chris REC
