Wonder if that's as much motor as they recommend??
I'm thinking a sweet little 17.5 setup.
I'm down for one and a few parts to build a nice runner.

It will come with a gear diff but the ball diff from Ultima RB will be an option.

Just noticed this:
The tires picture has GoodYear and Sand Super in it, the picture of the new tires with the foam says Sand Super not Good year! Very interesting.

Kyosho Scorpion - 30613B (37 photos)
This is the long awaited release of the retro vintage Scorpion, which was the cornerstone of the Kyosho off-road program during the late 70s and early 80s. Designed by the same designer as the original Scorpion, Akira Kogawa, this new version is very faithful to many of the details that make it virtually identical to the original car, but there are some changes to increase the durability and performance.
• The shocks are higher quality with much smoother operation, and the spring pre-load collars will not snap like the old ones. ;o)
• The transmission is upgraded with 48-pitch gears and nearly all metal construction except for the compound counter gear.
• A sealed gear differential is driven via a modern slipper clutch to smooth out power delivery.
• The differential and transmission housing are specially designed to accept the ball differential right out of the World Champion RB6 racing buggy.
• Thicker, stronger aluminum is used throughout the car to ensure greater durability and performance. This is especially notable in the structural “wing” sections at the rear of the chassis where the suspension arms attach.
• Trailing suspension arms give the new Scorpion the same superior advantage of the original Scorpion when compared to cars of its time period – the trailing arms are superior to A-arms in low traction situations, making the car track straighter and carry more speed through the corners than the competition.
• The original cast aluminum suspension arms were not as strong due to production limitations at the time the original Scorpion was manufactured. Modern technology now allows the use of forged 6061T6 aluminum material to form the suspension arms, resulting in far superior durability, performance, and a more refined finish.
• Wider is better. That’s always been the mantra of race car designers since the beginning of time. While the new Scorpion appears identical to the original in almost every aspect, the suspension is actually a little wider to enhance its handing capability.
• The steel dogbones are more robust than the original drive hardware due to higher quality material. The drive cups on both the differential and the axles feature deeper slots to ensure that the dogbones remain in place.
• The true-to-the-original knurled wheel adapters can be replaced with 12mm hex wheel adapters to allow the use of larger diameter modern wheels and tires for even greater performance.
• Soft compound rubber tires with foam inserts deliver the old-school looks of the original tires (even though the tread pattern is actually updated for better traction), along with the huge increase in performance made possible with the use of a modern, much softer rubber compound.
• One piece wheels are lighter and feature a better bond strength when used with a high-quality CA glue, when compared to the 3-piece wheels of the original car.
• Molded in the shape and color that is faithful to the body style of the original Scorpion, the new body is formed using material that is more flexible and much more durable than the original body.
• Bearings were a very expensive commodity back when the original Scorpion was made, which meant they were rarely included in RC car kits produced during that time period. The new Scorpion, however, includes a full set of bearings to compliment all the other enhancements that make this a much better performing machine than the original.
• The new Scorpion is scheduled to be released in the late June to July timeframe. The kits are very reasonably priced and they’re sure be become part of the historical landscape of the emerging vintage racer landscape.

Spec wise the re-re chassis has the Turbo upgrades: diff, 3 point shock tower, single piece suspension plate. Cosmetically, Its missing the ducts on the body and a driver guard with cut outs like sunroof, spot light, white tub and wheels, red anodised shocksralphee wrote:The pics just keep coming, this really is awesome news, re re the lot i say, I've no interest in hoarding for financial gain, i just love my toys![]()
