Re-white dyed plastic parts?
Re-white dyed plastic parts?
Does anybody know a way to re-white dyed plastic parts?
Black seems to me not possible, but what about the lighter colours like yellow, orange, etc...? Any suggestions

Re: Re-white dyed plastic parts?
It's been brought up several times and the general consensus is "no"
There was a thread where Reggie (Charlie don't surf) alluded to a method that showed potential, but nothing more was said

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Re: Re-white dyed plastic parts?
I just tried to do this recently. The most I was able to do was pull small amounts of color from the fiberglass towers but I was unable to remove colors from nylon parts. Some went to a white brownish color but nothing close to white. This was also among the other random cleaners and chemicals I've used too but I've never gotten any good results.
The most everybody has said is once its dyed, the only color left is black.

Ok, thanks for your replies, mates. I guess new parts are going to be ordered.

If I remember correctly, Charlie Don't Surf didn't want to post his method publicly because he didn't want ebay chop shops figuring it out. If you send him a PM he might be able to help you.
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.
