DS steering problem or not?????
DS steering problem or not?????
Hi, I bought a used DS and noticed the steering wasn't turning fully left or right. I went online for the Manual and noticed the steering blocks were installed backwards. The blocks were slant to the back. So I built the blocks per instructions and now they slant forward when mounted on the A arms with the steering arms facing way up. It doesn't look right. Also the ball end that mounts to the steering arm is on top in the manual, I had to put in on the bottom for the linkage to work proper. I get full turning now but the wheels seem to tilt excessively left to right. Did the DS kit come with different degree steering blocks? Or is this normal? Thanks.

Re: DS steering problem or not?????
i would assume it has the wrong castor blocks in it. you can really only use 30 degree castor blocks...... unless you want more than 8 degrees of castor, which i assume is what the previous owner was after. he just didn't notch the block out to get the steering back after he reversed them.
if you want it like the manual, buy some 30 degree blocks.
