Looks great, but I prefer the pics without the after-effects, over-contrast, etc.

Thanx Lars! It goes to show what a little TLC would do to anything. Even a decomposing for 24 years bug.Hcp22 wrote:Looks grate for something that has been dead for 24 years

Let me bore you with a little story about this car. I purchased it in 1987 to race at the local short oval dirt track. I was 14-15 at the time and I had no idea about gear ratios and such, so the older experienced guys that had there mids set up right doomed us to 2nd place on down. Also the 240ST motor was illegal to race, so I had to go with a stock motor. I always tried to ask the guy who always won about the gearing and he would never tell me. After months of beat downs I came up with a plan. I took the sticker off my 240ST stuck it in the car, and here comes race day. I'm starting second in the A Main and he still takes off on me by half a lap, as we are hitting lap traffic he spins out and I take the lead for the first time ever. It was about half way but with the illegal but fast 240ST I was able to hold off his late charge and WIN my first race.
When the race was over I could see the frustration on his face and without even looking at me, he rushed of the stand, goes gets his car and runs straight to the officials and what's the first thing he tells them you ask.. "..you got to check his motor, the car is too fast for that gear ratio.." They checked my car and seen the black 240ST motor clearly even without the sticker and sense they were tired of him winning all the time told me I keep the win but put back a stock motor if I want to race again with a smile and a wink.

Fast forward to racing nitros in the early 2000s in which I pretty much dominated, not only did I explain in detail on how they should set up their cars when asked, but I would go out of my way to help them if I seen they had the wrong set up.
So yes Paul its extra special.

nice bumper. Its got a nice look. amazing how it starts and then ends up, nice work, kudos on the end product. Always fun to try and photo polished cars without blinding the camera. Ive found sunlight is best and doesnt wash out lens with reflections as bad. love the story too
