black does go with everything, but it would be far from "great". if they don't make rc10 parts in their old translucent white, they will lose the majority of guys that would actually buy the stuff. it's easy enough to make the parts black ourselves if needed.
I agree. When I talked to him a few years ago, he said they couldn't produce that old white formula anymore, even if they wanted to.

Let's take a minute to consider what parts RPM has made for the RC10. If we exclude the basic stuff that can go on any car (ball cups, spring cups, etc.), that leaves the following list below (I'm just listing the parts I know. Whether they're in production or not, or whether they're easy to find, is another thing). Feel free to add to this list, but please re-post the entire list before adding a part, and then add your vote next to the one part that you want the most (you'll see I put a 1 next to the part I want. If you want the same, replace that with a 2, or put a 1 elsewhere, etc.). This might be the easiest way to keep an accurate tally.

RC10T front bumper
High impact spindle blocks
RC10T front bulkhead
RC10T rear bulkhead
RC10 arms
RC10T arms
RC10T body mounts
RC10T 2.65:1 stealth conversion (1)
Stealth gear cover
Worlds chassis conversion (maybe there's a more accurate name for this?)

RPM never produced a 10T front bulkhead but rather one for the RPM ultralmolded chassis (no mounts for the front tubes)

I could add the following:

- steering enhancement kit (special front c-hubs and spindle blocks)
- servo mounts
- Stealth gear cover for Hydra-Drive
- steering kit (2 different versions: one black without ball bearings and another white one made for the ultramolded chassis)
- black rear motor guard (most probably sourced from AE but anodised black)
- RC10 front bumper (3 holes, for the original set-up)
- RC10 rear hubs (I know of at least 2 different versions)
- RC10 rear bulkhead (Team car)
- RC10 rear bulkhead (Ultramolded)
- RC10 rear blocks
- RC10 one-piece front bulkhead (Team car, only available in black)
- RC10/JrX2 battery holder

I'm sure there is even more...

And there is probably more

And $5000 to $20000 to make a mold for a part thats a few inches big? I question that too. Maybe 20 years ago.
The 20K is about right but only in a mold that is typically made of steel. There are many injection companies that will make molds out of aluminum, resins, etc that will produce parts but will wear quicker than a steel mold bringing the parts yield down. These molds are usually much more reasonable in cost because the machining time in the mold is drastically decreased.

I did some significant research in injection molding and an aluminum mold was about 5K for the mold, then an additional couple bucks for each part. One place I researched claimed a yield of 10,000 parts on an aluminum mold. I would say that is pretty good.. Then again, you would have to sell a ton of parts to make up your cost in tooling, parts, advertising etc. I can see why a company would question the decision when you are in a business to make money.

If they still owned the moulds it would be worthwhile for sure. Having to make new moulds....I just don't see them doing it.

I've been doing the same thing over the years. E-mails, talking with them at RCX. Nothing.

was that directed towards me?

RPM can go ahead and make any old part they want, that's their right. just like any Associated remaking the rc10. my point is, they could've been doing this for years already. it's not as if they haven't been hounded about it. now they want to re-tool to pop out some old parts (and we all know that it's the rc10 re-release that has sparked this) while Associated is going to have full parts support to their vehicles? they can take a break from making flesh toned nut sacks long enough to do that now?

if they start making stuff again, i'm sure i'll buy some of it. i'm not against them doing it. i just find it irritating that they could've been embracing the vintage market for a long time already. and instead of just doing it, they ask us if we want them to do it? come on.... they've been asked for years.
i was one of them.

i emailed them more than once back in my day, asking if they had any old dusty boxes in the corners of a warehouse or if they would consider remaking the cool old white stuff…

rpm called their chassis conversions ultramolded.

i would love to see re-re ultramolded chassis', but only if they were black. once again you gotta keep somethings sacred… imho white rpm parts should stay in the past.

Which RPM identified that they specifically will NOT re-re the ultramolded chassis.

I do need those worlds - rear arm mounts though.

Maybe they could do the worlds front and rear kits. They would certainly sell more than 50 units of those considering the AE re-release is not limited.

a front worlds kit would only make sense if AE re-released the 10t, since for a tub chassis, it requires a 10t nose plate. not that 10t nose plates are hard to find, but can you imagine the prices they would start to fetch if you could get readily accessible rpm worlds parts?

obviously, there would be no issue with a c.c. worlds chassis.

Oh yes right, for the tub
I was thinking for the purpose of using the cc chassis.

Oh no! That will cause a decline in dirty dangler sales. Which ultimately will lead to the multi-colored sacks to be discontinued by RPM.

Bad News for Dirty Dangler fans!

.......and I cant see enough members joining "DirtyDanglerTalk.com" to get them to change their minds.
