Re: The first TRF ewer…
yeah you can definately see this is the evolution from the super astute to the dyna storm, the bellcranks are just like the dynastorm ones except the arm that connects to the servo turnbuckle is flat down near the chassis, in the dynastorm they raised it so it would be a simliar height to the ballstud on the servo horn

Re: The first TRF ewer…
Hi guys, FYI, Overrev is also a factory team driver from the Philippines. According to him 5 prototypes were given by the Tamiya distributor in the Philippines for them to test and make weekly reports. Its a nice thing to track all the prototypes around the globe. We hope Tamiya still has the list of the whereabouts of the rest of the prototypes release.

We need to ship Steve out to you to take proper pics

I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

Re: The first TRF ewer…
Just asking if anyone has parts or possibly a manual for a Tamiya TRF211x ?
Due to the difficulty in finding such a rare chassis I thought it may be easier to build a replica from a Tamiya DynaStorn.
I have started a model in Solidworks drawing from common parts between the two models it is now the main Chassis, Upper deck and Motor/gearbox brace for which I am finding hard to model accurately.
I need parts or manual to draw from...
Can anyone help ?
Thanks
Scott.
PS I did contact Tamiya Japan and they have no parts or Manuals.

I know the author personally. PM if you’d like more details.

I have both parts to the actual car and the official manual (PDF form). I don't believe Tamiya would have lost it, they seem quite keen on preserving their own history..
Let me check that it's OK if I give you a copy first. Got it from one of the original 211X drivers, and would prefer if he's fine with it. Getting back!

Thanks pUs and naushad for your help !!
I was also surprised by Tamiya's reply in that they unfortunately did not have a manual or parts ( I wasn't really expecting parts though )
I should note that Tamiya was quick to reply and very polite.
Thanks guys !!

Re: The first TRF ewer…
OK so I have started to build a SW 3D model of a Tamiya TRF211x...
.
I have used my own Dyna Storm to build a base model - but using only photos from pUs TRF211x build om TamiyaClub I created the upper and lower deck to be based on the design of the TRF211x.
.
I would like to have the chassis plate cut from carbon fibre and make a few of the custom suspension pieces from Delrin....
.
If I can't buy one or even buy parts of one I will build my own.
