Thank you, I ordered some. I am still confused as the boss that the ball sits in looks to be too thick. It must be that the 1/8 are just binding tho

In tearing apart some yokomo diffs recently, I noticed that the plastic pully had been melted on one of them, causing globs of plastic to build up around the ball pockets,, causing the diff rings to rub even more on plastic, causing more melting, and making it look at a glance to be stock. Diff was run dry I guess? I had never seen this on any other type car. Fortunately, the pully cleaned up well, and the diff is actually quite smooth. Im guessing its a bit weak compared to stock, possibly brittle from heat,, but ima run it till it breaks.

Pullies must be melted then as the 1/8" balls are tight. I haven't received the 3mm to try yet but I did locate new pullies. Thanks for the help everyone!

Yeah I have a .127 ream for hinge pins that should do the trick but the ball pockets are just baffling me. They appear perfect. Can't see any signs of melting, yet with the balls in there they don't look like they protrude enough to make contact- which means a 3mm would have been even worse. Very strange but I'm sure once I get the fresh pullies I will see where the problem is

I think I'm good on hardware now. I'm just waiting on the magnesium parts before I show off the carbon brace
still have to make straps too

Re: Cause I don't have enough going on....YZ870 edition
Ok so I did play a little but today but without my magnesium pieces I won't bore y'all with pics. I got a steering kit from Reggie and mounted it up, I had a steering brace from an eBay auction so I threw it on there too. Probably not era correct but easy enough to look beyond. I also started rebuilding the diffs with the rcps diff kit. Basically two pieces of sandpaper you glue to the outdrives and they lock the rings. Installed new rings and tried 1/8" balls in the new pulleys and it works now
must have been melted pulleys all along. They look fine but obviously aren't. Rebuilt the center shaft with the new pulley, one way, and spur.
Lastly, I decided I had collected enough parts for....wait for it.....another build lol. Basically just to use up some pieces but it will be interesting![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

So that's what the diff kit is for. I have one that came with an RCPS steering brace, and wasn't sure how to use it. What do you do with those two metal tubes in the diff kit?
