I want to recreate the colour scheme of the car on the back cover of the RC10 manual. Has anyone got a colour pic or know what colours it was?

Warm regards
Ed
Dude I really hope so! Then I can paint my runner, add my repro early RC10 parts and be stocked!Asso_man! wrote:Ok I see now, damn internet securityI'm pretty sure I have a color picture of it somewhere
Yes that is the car, in that thread it is a hand drawing of the real car which I have pictured and is at the back of my manual. Thanks.MOmo wrote:You talked about the back cover, is it a hand drawn image?

Ohhhh sounds interesting. It wouldn't happen to be in colour would it? Where would one get a copy of this dvd, or is it on google video or a file sharing website?tomstacey wrote:Aah. the old upside down shock car.. There is a VERY good video of it on Gene Husting's 1984 DVD if you;re interested Ed.
woops that escaped my attention at the first reading of this treadtomstacey wrote:Aah. the old upside down shock car.
The earlier production cars and the prototypes were raced with upside down rear shocks as people believed they performed better this way, I am not sure it was a leaking issue.Mr. ED wrote:I once wanted to do the same cause the original losi shocks on my 2nd hander were spilling oil and new cartridges were nowhere available in belgium yet.
I was being polite while referring to the lower center of gravity. I wouldn't know if RC10 shocks ever leaked: never had any. But it is pretty funny they did this only to the rear shocks. didn't he design allow to do the same upfront?Dr. Robotnik wrote: The earlier production cars and the prototypes were raced with upside down rear shocks as people believed they performed better this way, I am not sure it was a leaking issue.
Yup, it wasn't due to leaking. Asso shocks where the first that didn't leak!! Apparently according to Gene Husting, Jay Halsey mounted the rear shocks upside down because "the car worked better that way" Gene agrees that the car does handle better but could never really fathom why!!Dr. Robotnik wrote: The earlier production cars and the prototypes were raced with upside down rear shocks as people believed they performed better this way, I am not sure it was a leaking issue.
