I've watched quite a few of those tether car vids on youtube. Same principle as control line planes with throttle wide open except the line is secured to a poll. The cars are awesome and command quite a price for the vintage ones on e-Bay. Would like to have one just for display.

I've got an old control line plane similar to the ones I used to fly waiting for restoration. It has a gold head .29 McCoy rear carbed engine. Bought from the original owner who said it was last flown in the late 60's. Can't wait to bring that old engine back to life. This plane will hang from the ceiling after restoration.

This would be a perfect engine for a tether car. No mufflers back in the day!

That would be a definite improvement over this snooze fest.

Some apparently are worth big bucks. I seen an episode of Storage wars, when Barry found a vintage, and had sold it for something like 2 grand, but for me, that's only a $115 dollar bill......all day long :?

I could point you to a few near me where this isn't the case.

I had a pretty good return on my money in a VIP section of a strip bar in Spain

I have 2 tether cars and wouldn't mind having more but the ones I like always seem to cost way too much.

Money gets spent until you get spent. Seems like an equal return-on-investment?
