Re: Jrx2 Proformanance Kit proto car from 1989 ROAR nats rep
First: Thank you for all of your encouraging comments
GJW: The progress have seriously been a little slow: I have managed to collected only some parts, like NIB ball bearing steering and NIB mini bumper. My dentist have keep my RC purchasing desires a little low recently
I have also purchased some parts to my Jose Rosas Optima project.
I will probably do Jack Johnson's replica though I definitely would like to do Gil Losi's replica, but since I have not managed to find any pics from Gil's car from that race or even from that era, this Gil's replica might be not the way I will follow. If someone could help me with this, I would be grateful. The chassis bottom in Jack's car seems to be standard early LWB JrxT chassis without the servo saver hole and probably also "full graphite/carbon fiber version" not a "glass fiber sandwich version". The curves around servo area are not the same as they are in SWB Jrx2 chassis; the curves are more back than they are in SWB chassis. This is because there is Jrx2 body in Jack's car and the body seems to be cut to right place at back end. On front end the body is only cut so that it will only cover chassis etc. as good as possible. Also the rear bulkhead is installed to the standard place so he did not seemed to use that "extension trick" like there is in LXT & JrxPro SE chassis is what some Team Losi team drivers used in that era.

Re: Jrx2 Proformance Kit proto car from 1989 ROAR nats repli
I have done some progress with this project and will probably break all scr8p's records for longest projects before this is ready
.
First some more/better scans from Jack's and Mike's cars: Then some parts that I have managed to purchase in last few months:
Many parts to here and there from Aaron: e.g. Header card for H-arm conversion kit is with Jrx2 logo, so plastic in these should be also periodic correct "soft"
. JrxPro rear shock tower will be used only as a drilling template to drill new holes to rear bulkhead for rear camber ball studs.
Then "Team Losi Performance" and "Revolution" sticker sheets from Mike. He is a really nice guy, much nicer than I am
. Thank You again Mike!
Misc parts from Andrew and some from ebay:
And finally a few days ago these come from Cedric:
Finally (after more than one and a half year search) a unused full graphite early JrxT chassis without servo saver hole and also a decal sheet that I have never seen before: "PrimeTime"
I hope I will manage to make chassis parts and drilled motor plate during this summer.

EDIT: This was again one more time when ebay search didn't show me all results that should have been listed. I almost want to say the F-word...

Re: Jrx2 Proformance Kit proto car from 1989 ROAR nats repli
Progress, yes some:
- I managed to get Tekin 600 ESC. It is used but looks like new. Only problem might (and probably will) be too short blue wire, the - wire to motor. I also have to get and change the wire to receiver, my 600 have Futaba wire but I need Airtronics version. My 600 should also work but I think I will never find it out does it really work or not.
- I got also an airbrush, two functional (=maybe too advanced for me
) full metal (= should be easier to clean
). I still have to find a correct adapter between my airbrush and my air compressor.
In last few weeks I have tried to find information about correct tools and methods to machine carbon fibre/graphite. With help from Jerzi, he showed his tools and shared his experience with them to me. His knowledge was really good help to me. I will also get a nylon block from him (to that part between battery and servo that keep those chassis stiffeners in place) hopefully this week. I already have carbon fibre sheet for chassis stiffeners that does have a very similar surface. The sheet is just a bit too thin but is OK with me. The "interesting" thing with my sheet is where it comes from: It is from X-ray mammography machine. My sheet just have some manufacturing error somewhere and was never used real life, but it "brothers" were used as a worktop where examined "material" are placed.
BTW: Does anybody know what is the angle in Losi's countersunk screws? The metric and incorrect is 90-degrees but there is (at least) two different imperial angles available.

Well blow me down. Thanks Scr8p for showing me this thread.
I bought this many years back and the dude I got it from told me he either ran this or got this from a dude that ran Worlds (can't remember for sure). I searched for a long time I figured F-it I can't back any of his claims up I'll just ditch it as I kinda lost interest.
I wish I could remember who the guy was I got it from and what exactly he told me. It only came with chassis, battery box, and front/rear suspension, no trans.
I am now thinking of killing it and keeping it. Didn't know what I had...... still don't, but looks ALOT like the pics in this thread other than the side plates of the battery box.

Glad to be back in this hobby so many many years later. To see new things and to recollect on ALL cool vintage models!
