I bet the city strips away the right to fly there from now on.

Reminds me of our fellow forum member whose child chased after other kids with an RC car, resulting in injury. I guess it was bound to happen, be it from an RC car, plane or helicopter...which genre of RC isn't really the point, because all of them these days are capable of very high speeds and can be dangerous in the wrong hands.

It's not the first and won't be the last time such a thing happens. My Dad used to fly RC aeroplanes back in the 70's and 80's and has told me about the problems encountered when interference started occurring on whatever frequency they used to use. I recall being told about somebody deing decapitated by an errant RC glider at the time.

I don't think speed is really the problem (although could ofcourse be a contributing factor to poor control), but is a public park really a sensible place to fly a helicopter/plane? Or even to drive a fast car if there isn't vast areas of open space?
Using my son as an excuse to relieve my youth.

This report reached Denmark as well, the kid was known to fly very close to his own head, Show-off. Sad for friends and relatives, but shear stupidity is unbeatable. To me it´s like putting Your head in the lions mouth.

I wanted to run my stuff in the park thats near me but too many people like to take their pets (read dog) and leave them unleashed to which they begin to freak out at my car when its running.

They never get close enough for me to worry as full throttle usually creates a storm of debris flying at whatever is chasing my cars.

This story is also one of the reasons I dont do flying rc's.

Very sad to hear. It fits in the category of 1000 ways to die.
