I forgot all about that one but yes- I had one of those too. I had a fettish with the 03's for a brief while. These are terrible pics but the cars were full of hop ups and alloy. One purple, one blue. The plastics and stock parts are what went into the dual motor which of course I don't have pics of
I should mention, I sold these over 10 years ago

Hah, that's a great little anecdote on the Bullet's handling, and again surprising to hear of another possible owner. I personally figured these cars never made it out of A-Main's shop.gomachv wrote:I stopped by RC Plus today with the bullet and talked to Ron. I knew it was going to be fun when he said "oh, look a Bullet. Those things were a pile of $&%@!" Lol.
...
Would be great to find an original chassis even if it's only for seeing how off the repro's measurements are.
That's very generous of you, thanks. I'll talk to gomachv and maybe we can shop around to see if anyone can produce the necessary CF sheet for less.Seabass wrote:I tell you what guys, if you guys have CC build the mold then provide the material to me, I will machine the chassis for both you (Gomachv) and Phin for nothing. All you would need to do is get the material to me. I will be back in the states 1 Oct and should have my shop setup and running again in Nov.

Re: A-Main Bullet Fwd 4ws RC10 conversion Tribute build
His feelings about the car were not really that the car was a pile, per say, but rather based on what the car did to racing. He said they were very much a fast rolling roadblock.
Modern tracks with these things will be interesting to say the least
Are we thinking that body is similar to the Mears body? Or is there something closer?
Lastly, I have sent the pieces to J-sou and he is going to make us some files that can be used to cut all the carbon parts. the last and hardest part will be the chassis, and only difficult due to the odd angles which kind of make the car. The plates are so narrow tho, it will be easy to make quite a few out of minimal material

"A fast rolling roadblock" fits with how I want to build my Bullet.
The body on the ad car is a Parma Chenowth Frog body isn't it?

Yeah the aluminum is .125 (1/8") so it's pretty heavy! BUT.....the most important thing is that the drawing you made and J-Sou put into cad and cut with the waterjet is perfect (well, except that kerf issue but no biggie). The layout looks like it will work fine, and short of seeing a real one I think it looks pretty close!
I have sourced some very short stepped standoffs that work great for the front bellcranks. Same with the battery plate standoffs, all McMaster Carr and very inexpensive.
I'm excited! I am stoked that everything has bolted right up. The steering is much better now too! I moved the battery holder standoffs in 1mm each side to allow more throw. It's lock to lock and very close to my other kyoshos just in the front
Again, THANK YOU to Phin and J-Sou, I couldn't have gotten this far without you!
Side note, my buddy that did the bending on the chassis just got a new laser at the shop. This is close to 3/32 thick!

The end goal is carbon fiber, but I have a batch of black going to anno in a couple weeks and plan to go this chassis as well. It will get it closer to the carbon look until we can get the custom chassis laid up.

No! I'm not playing the high polish game! Then you have fingerprints and have to carry microfiber towels with you everywhere, pretty soon your going to car shows every week and your family misses you...I can't do that to them
It will just get black anno- but I will polish it a little before just to get a better finish

Does your anodizing guy do masking? If so maybe he could ano a carbon fiber pattern on the aluminum.
