Recognising when you have a problem......
I moved almost a year ago now... just before I moved, I had to pack up all my RC dungeon, which took quite a while and quite a few boxes. When packing up all that carp, I kept coming across used wheels and tyres, which I just threw into one of the shipping boxes, and taped up when I was done.
Fast forward to last night.... it's a Thursday night, nearing the end of winter, it's raining, the nightlife is a little on the dull side..... so I thought I'd try going through the box. The picture below is what came out, after sorting: The lot included this big pile of single tyres, mostly used but some new or newish: Also was this not as big pile of wheels: And also this quite decent pile of mounted wheels and tyres: I did also find a nice lot of used but cleanable Mini Mustang wheels, which was a bit of a nice bonus, and a few Optima / Peugeot 405 wheels, which I was actually looking for.... the worst bit was that of all the 1:10 pan car wheel rims I found, NONE of the foams were usable.... d'oh!
Also note, this is just the 'bits and bobs' I found while cleaning up.... methinks I have too much junk!

Re: Recognising when you have a problem......
I had a big pile like that, or still have, I cant remember anymore. I ended up throwing most of the junk tires away and kept the semi-good ones. I've also accumulated a decent pile of bodies.
Lately I've just been trying to get all the cars I have in display condition instead of buying new cars or parts for future cars. One day we'll get there.

Re: Recognising when you have a problem......
Not certain exactly what's in the pile..... unboxed it, sorted it, split the used from the usable tyres, then put it all back in the box again!skunk.werkz wrote:got any AE TQ71 front tires in the pile
I really do doubt it, though..... not a lot of AE tyres in there.... mostly from Schumacher, Tamiya, and Kyosho cars and buggies...

Nice pile you have there Alex, mine has been growing very rapidly since I get into vintage a few years ago, nothing like yours though.
