Losi chassis?
I found this among my other stuff and assumed it was junk, but as I was looking around it looks a heck of a lot like a Junior 2 or Junior T chassis. I have what looks like Junior T wheels, but I honestly can't remember having a Losi other than the jrx2.
Can y'all take a look at it and let me know what you think...is this Losi? I can't find an identifying mark anywhere on it.

Re: Losi chassis?
So...
Jrx2 -> jrxpro upgrades like the h-arm and such -> swap out the whole graphite chassis for a plastic chassis and ditch the 5-link on the back?
Maybe that's what we did, but that's something I def don't remember.
Why did people swap graphite for plastic?

Re: Losi chassis?
The 5 link rear suspension can also be mounted for different track types. But I dont think that was as popular as going to the h-arm

Re: Losi chassis?
We def went to the h-arm because I found the install instructions.
If buying a composite junior 2/t chassis made the car even faster but still let you put in a 5-link setup if needed, I'm sure that's what we did.
I'm curious to know why it would be better...was the junior chassis lighter than the jrx2 graphite?

Re: Losi chassis?
The composite chassis was much stiffer than the graphite. Some people subscribe to the idea that you need a little flex on rougher tracks but I personally have always found that to be an excuse for not knowing how to tune properly.

Re: Losi chassis?
True.
Any difference in weight? If it weighs the same I might use it as a platform for my jrx2 rebuild. Or I guess I could just find a jrx2 chassis and build 2 cars, lol.

Re: Losi chassis?
Since it has lots of stiffening braces and is only to be used with a top deck then yes it's heavier. That's not necessarily a bad thing though since what it gains in weight is more than offset by stiffness and handling. That's my opinion though. It may seem like a bit of irony for me to say this but while I like the handling of the composite chassis, I love the look of the graphite chassis. For me it just brings back memories from the track and back then you didn't have a race car unless you had a graphite chassis. It was before the composites came out though.

Re: Losi chassis?
I happen to have both JrxPro and the JrxPro SE version in front of me right now.
The graphite Jrxpro one is 155 grams, the molded SE is 179 with Losi top brace and 178 with RPM top brace.

Re: Losi chassis?
If we're only talking about a 24g difference I bet I could punch enough holes in there with a drill to lose that weight...but I'm kind of with you Fredswain...I used to race the graphite and don't remember winning any races with the composite.

I lost races with every type of chassis! For me success was usually determined by whether or not the ball cups poppped off.

Re: Losi chassis?
So Charlie...that's a Jr2 chassis, JRX Pro suspension, etc. Are all of the jrx2, jrxpro, and jrxpro SE parts compatible with that chassis? What transmissions are compatible? I'd like to find a hyrda drive with a slipper clutch, but I might get something else because I haven't seen a ton of parts for the hydra out there.Charlie don't surf wrote:That's a Junior-2/T chassis.

I drilled out my Jr2 chassis last night to lighten it up...not nearly as clean as yours but it'll do the trick.

Re: Losi chassis?
Sweet...so I need to be looking for an LRM and then a separate hydradrive...probably much easier to find.
Are those stock Losi shocks on your car?

Yes, they are the early Losi Hard Bodies hard anodized gold shocks, but the stock dimensionspmathews924 wrote:Sweet...so I need to be looking for an LRM and then a separate hydradrive...probably much easier to find.
