need help identifying motor

In the RC10 manual (yellow) page 37 ,the plug is dark like mine, but most of the photos in the manual look to be for the early Edinger, and would like to know if its to early, or even the correct motor for my "mid". The bagged number (6501) is not the same as the manual #(6500), was that just a kit type number?

seems like they put a colored plug on the modified or massaged motors
