Cool, thanks for the info. Maybe the tires I have are Supershot rears...I never heard of Eagle brand...

Jason,
What axles are you using to enable you to run hexes with the standard hubs and bearings..
Mark..

Hi Mark.Stumpy wrote:Jason,

The rear stub axles are using some custom machined hexes on the rear. It's actually a combination of the circular factory taper drive hub which sits inside of a machined hex. The previous owner must have had the material machined out so the circular hub could be pressed in place. Kinda clever really. I don't have a picture for you right now but I'll get something up here when I return home tomorrow.
Cheers- Jason

One thing that has kept me from rebuilding the Zerda I have is that the roll bar clips were near impossible to find.
Problem solved! Thanks mytimac!
These are fresh off the printer, with a little sanding and either laquer thinner or maybe a clear coat and I think they will match even better!

Brilliant idea. I know others who would be interested in some of these parts too.

Back in the day, I ran a zerda till it was litterally dead, worn out, busted beyond repair. I got it at circus hobbies,, and then circus hobbies either faded away, or just quit carrying them. They were a great importer of all things hirobo. Good times. I would gladly revisit the zerda type fun.

Re: Hirobo ZERDA thread. Post your pics, hints & tips.
A bit of thread resurrection but as it was there I thought I'd save cluttering up the forum and use this existing thread .
The Zerda was one I always liked the look of as a kid but it was a bit exotic in my area and no model shop stocked it so I never had one bitd , anyway jump forward 30+ years and I just won one on eBay so I've been cramming on the subject of old Hirobo's and here I am .
I've ordered a new set of belts from" tough racing " , a new set of axles , a new spur/pulley, bellows for the spur pulley cover and main belt tensioner pulley , I'm obviously planning on replacing the bearings as well and I plan on running it so I thought I'd ask what other parts might be a recommended part to have on hand or likely to be worn out on the car I've bought .
Any help or advice is very welcome .

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
