This is the Team Associated Stealth Transmission Thrust Bearing Set.

ball in cage retainer type style thrust bearing.
Offers improved performance of the clutch giving more punch.

INCLUDES: One 5-40 steel locknut with nylon insert
One brass thrust bearing washer (1/8 id. 5/16 od. 1/16 thick)
Two steel polished thin washers that sandwich thrust bearing washer
Instruction sheet

COMMENTS: This is installed on the main spur gear shaft and is sandwiched
between the torque control spring and 3/16 x5/16 bearing/bushing.
The thrust bearing no longer has balls inside it is solid.
AXY 6/21/94

Associated

Part ASC6594
That was what Associated printed bitd, it's just a copy/paste for the sellers. I have no idea why it was said to have more punch, I always figured they changed it due to the cost of the tiny thrust bearing assy

I read the same thing. Seemed a little confusing .. just wondering how it would effect the diff when trying to set it?

It doesn't effect the diff at all, just the slipper. Bitd I remember them switching to it but never saw a difference. They also lost the slipper bearing and went to a bushing at the same time. Always seemed like cost cutting to me.

The thrust washers also went through a change. They used to be a hard type chrome finish, and now a black oxide finish...just putting it out there
