RC10GT, Specifically Which?
I honestly know littlle to nothing about Nitro/Gas and I know some of you guys know what is what. So, what exactly do I have? What is the model number? Can you point me in the direction of a box art pic? Which is the correct body? Make note of the engine...... It needs a new head and the other piece (don't know what it is called) is missing. The engine looks to be fine other than that. Any help would be appreciated.
It came un assembled missing a few parts and very dirty. I tore it apart and let everything soak in Simple Green. Then slapped everything back together with a few extra parts I had lying around. I am not sure what I will do with it, I was going to sell it. The more I think about it, I might "restore" it. it just needs a few parts here and there that are readily available.

Re: RC10GT, Specifically Which?
That is one of the RTR trucks, I do not know the model # on them. I believe that it is one of the early trucks with shorter wheelbase as it has the metal nose tube braces.
The part you need for the back of the motor depends on the chankshaft. Normally it would need a pullstarter assembly, but I've seen some that were converted to non pull once the starter broke.
The RTR came with a pre-painted body, the newer style ones came in red or blue with checkered flag down the side and white on the lower edge below the checks.
The older body is pictured below courtesy of some random ebay auction.

Re: RC10GT, Specifically Which?
looking through the manuals online, it apears to be a 7090 RTR:

So this isn't the correct body? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2714&P=7
For the manual I would say no, but that pic from the auction kinda looks like it is the 6131 body.

Re: RC10GT, Specifically Which?
I think the 6131 is the right body as the rtr has the same shorter wheelbase as the tub chassis.
here is a better pic of the 6090 RTR

The manual does not mention anything about the body for the RTR, which is obviously already trimmed, painted, and mounted.

I believe this body is specifically for the tub chassis GT.mrlexan wrote:So this isn't the correct body? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2714&P=7

Re: RC10GT, Specifically Which?
The 6131 is for pre 1996 GT's with the old style white narrow rear shock tower. The discontinued "96 II" body is the one you need for the RTR. I don't have my catalog list here or I'd give the p/n.

No, the humps in the back are in the wrong place. You could just cut them out Dudgeon stylee...GAMMACRUSH wrote:temple of speed i have a quick question. say if a person had a 6131 body, would it fit on a gt with the newer style rear shock tower?

The 96 II body is (ok was) 6134.

Re: RC10GT, Specifically Which?
That's the first RTR flat chassis GT. The chassis is the same wheelbase as the tub, and it's 3mm thick. It's a great chassis for a runner/basher. The 6134 body is the original for that truck, and also came on the later tub chassis trucks. You can use the 6131 body on it if you replace the rear tower with the older style narrow tower. Or modify the one you have. The bigger shock tower is the only thing in the way of the 6131 body fitting, other than that it's a direct fit.
