RC10 B4.1 Worlds build, when rear suspension fully extended

Post by bozack »

So I am building a 4.1 worlds kit and I noticed that when the rear suspension is fully extended and I turn one of the wheels (with no motor in it) the rear arms start to pick up as if the CVDs are pulling them up, and then they drop down as the differential outdrives rotate...Wondering if this is normal behavior or if I might have missed a step though I don't have any spare parts...with the car sitting at normal ride height things are fine, but figure in a jump if the wheels are going the rear end hopping would look odd.

Thanks

Hey Charlie,

Thanks for the quick reply, ok so I guess I am making a mountain out of a molehill then, I have a losi micro T (granted not a fair comparison) that doesn't do this, and I sold off all my other RCs that I had from years ago so I can't really compare.

Nah, you'd be surprised how many guys have asked that. Or built there new shocks (for the first time in.10+ years) with no internal limiters and were rocking the monster truck look.

yeah the new shocks threw me a little, I mean before everything was assembled on the inside and now the V2s are all outside, plus those bleed screws suck if you try following the manual, I had to use a drill bit to open the hole a little...

Here is the latest pic I took of it still a work in progress....

Hey so I am an idiot, I took another look at it after this thread and reading about CVDs binding and apparently I put them together wrong, instead of putting the retention pin through the side of the inside barrel I put it through the top which was causing them to bind. Fixed the error and now all is well.

Thanks again

You are not the only idiot. I noticed the same problem. Searched all over Google and found nothing. Came here to post about it and saw this thread and viola. Fixed. Thanks for posting the fix you found!

Well glad I can help someone with my dumbassery :)

If I really looked at the picture I would have noticed the error, however I think they do a much better job with the b4.2 manual as I looked at that and it was much cleaner.

And the 4.1 World's versin has a tiny piece of paper I found...after. It says what to do differenenlty. So I used the wrong shock pistons and had to take a few things apart to install the weight. At least I didn't have to de-bur the transmission gears like I did 27 years ago!

So I referenced the setup sheet but not sure I saw the little piece of paper, though I did figure out the weight like you after the fact from reading the B4.2 manual....I will have to search for the insert and see if I messed anything else up, though at this point I think I will just live with whatever pistons I put in there.

I think they definitely have room to improve in their instruction department
