Where are all the vintage losi's??
Re: Where are all the vintage losi's??
I find it goes and comes in cycles. Some months there will be nothing and other's to much to chose from. A few months ago there was maybe one XX on evilbay, and now there are several to chose from. Including some more unique ones as well. So just keep looking from time to time and you will find what you need. I buy part lots every now and then even if I don't need it. Better to get it when you can and have spares for when you need then to look and there is nothing when you NEED it. I have 2 xx complete, and at least antoher 2-3 in parts... same thing with my x2. So gettem when you can! And just keep looking, I always eventually find what I need.

Re: Where are all the vintage losi's??
I think I've been contributing to the recent upsurge in "Vintage Losi" parts on eBay. I've been buying up Jrx2, JrxT, Junior 2, XX4 and XXXT parts like crazy for the past several months. I'm actually racing both my Jrx2 and JrxT vehicles on a local carpet oval and could probably build several vehicles out of the spare parts I have, except that I only have one spare chassis. I wish I would have kept a lot more of my old stuff, like the original Jrx2 body. I still have the T body, but its got many, many miles on it. I may try to upload some photos of each if I can find the motivation some time after work...

Great to hear that your old Losi cars are still being used as they should - some photos would be most appreciated here!matt1ptkn wrote:I think I've been contributing to the recent upsurge in "Vintage Losi" parts on eBay. Re: Where are all the vintage losi's??
Here's a couple quick pics of my still competitive Jrx2 and T. Does anyone know if there are any readily available wider suspension arms for the T? I know RPM made a wide set and the LXT arms should fit, but both these options seem scarce. I plan to try adapting XXXT arms since I already have those. Just curious.

Re: Where are all the vintage losi's??
Losi's dont get fair value on the open market so many prefer to keep them rather than get 80 bucks for them.
I am one of those guys. I have 4 losi's. I have more fun building them then I would ever get back.
The lone exception is the XX4 which seems to command fair market value cuz its such a damm cool buggy.

I've got a set of front and rear LXT arms and a front set of RPM arms for the LXT that I'm never going to use if anyone needs them.

I've been seeing some ads on rcuniverse for x2's and Pro's, but I can't get anyone to respond when I message them. I have noticed prices seem to be climbing lately, also.

Really, Ive found quite the oposite, just seen a xx with RPM gear cover, a bunch of other hop ups I cant think of right now and it went for $75. Someone got a great deal there. Some Individual parts fetch a few dollars but complete cars sit with no buyers for low prices?

Re: Where are all the vintage losi's??
I recently got a XXXT with loads of parts, all in good shape for $85. I almost had to pinch myself. By the way, if anyone is interested, XXXT suspension arms will not easily fit onto a JrxT. I think I'm just going to have to give the XXXT a go next season.

Re: Where are all the vintage losi's??
I have heard many good things about the XXXT from people that race them at my local track. I haven't heard any negatives other than the diff has a tendency to loosen up from time to time. I also got a Desert Truck geared diff with the XXXT I bought so I hope to avoid that particular issue. Time will tell.

I sold my XX4 for 110 on ebay, I couldn't get anyone to bite on any forums.
Re: Where are all the vintage losi's??
I've also recently been searching for a JRX2 - ideally the original 5 link, short chassis version. They come up on Ebay but hard to find one in good order. I found you need to just search 'JRX' and search through the results. I'm in the UK and I searched Worldwide on Ebay. I've just bought a JRX2 with PRO chassis and later standard rear arms but lots of original other early JRx2 parts. The car is coming from Canada.
I think I will be able to get most of the parts I need for it on US Ebay - I'm seeing its worth watching out at prices of parts though, they range in price a lot.

Re: Where are all the vintage losi's??
Take your time when searching because not all eBay sellers use the same format. Some quote the Losi part number, other don't or they quote it in different ways, e.g. Losa3070, A-3070 and A3070.aggpm09 wrote:I've also recently been searching for a JRX2 - ideally the original 5 link, short chassis version. Also some sellers don't quote the truck/buggy model that the part is for so you often need to search several ways - well I do anyway! If you're not already aware, a excellent Losi specialist in the USA is Sabulatech - http://www.oldrc.com
