So I took my vintage Losi to the track..

I drove up to Hobby Action raceway in Chandler AZ on Tuesday with my JRX-Pro and a pair of modern Associated buggies (B7 and 74.2D) and managed to break all 3. The B74.2 was just electrical gremlins and the B7 broke both a servo horn and a ball cup, but the Losi broke a rear H-arm and the steel outer hinge pin

This car does not have 4 wheel steering

What happened:
After coming out of a fast sweeper onto a short straight the buggy made an uncontrolled sharp left turn directly into the path of an oncoming stadium truck. There was nothing the truck could do and it plowed into the buggy sending both vehicles tumbling. The older guy driving the buggy actually went down on the track and found the spacer and ends of the broken pin (really need that spacer) for me.

It wasn't his fault at all, completely impossible for him to avoid the collision and it's even possible the buggy had already broken and that's what caused the sudden left then.

Anyway, Ebay had all the replacement bits and they'll be here next week.

That's a bummer- I've had mine out about 6 times on super high bite without failure....yet. Hope the parts we reasonable!

Yeah, not bad. About 18 bucks for a pair of arms with inner hinge pins. I don't remember what I paid for the outer pins, but it was not pricey.

Sounds like the breakage caused the accident.. For a stronger modification, you can use A-2007 5-link outer hinge pins. This was featured in Losi Tech Talk back in the day. Here it is on my runner JRXT but I used some shock spacers instead of the push on clips.

One of the hinge pins from the STRC Kit for the Traxxas Bandit / Rustler might fit lengthwise. The longer pins are all 1/8 inch diameter, the 2 shortest pairs are thinner (caster blocks and steering).

It’s a bit pricy if you’re just going to use one pair.

Thanks so much for that info BattleTrak. Coincidentally the A-2007 pins are what I was able to find on Ebay. Sounds like I got lucky.

The parts arrived and everything is back together. The A-2007 mod worked great. Weirdly my old JRX-Pro lists the outer hinge pin part number as A-2007, which it definitely was not. I'm guessing that was a misprint that carried over the JRX-2 part number. Oh well, happy accident.

I never noticed that in the Pro manual! The correct rear outer H arm pins are A-2023. Glad it all worked out and you’re ready for battle again!
