Troubleshooting question
New to the forum from SC, my name's Jon. I'm 34 and haven't had an RC out in about 15 years. My son saw my cars and wanted to get them out.
I have an RC10 that's probably about 25 years old. I'm running it with a Futaba 2pb. I am having a problem with the car being unresponsive at times and taking off at full speed. I remember it doing this years ago and may be why I quit using it. Any suggestions?

Re: Troubleshooting question
It's likely to be a dirty or improperly adjusted mechanical speed controler.
Post some pics of the setup if you can- that will help narrow it down.

Re: Troubleshooting question
Thanks for the quick reply, it is a manual speed control. I'll get some photos after work.

Re: Troubleshooting question
I'm going to order some batteries and saw an esc w/reverse for cheap too. All my batteries are NiCd but I see NiMh with a lot more storage. Do they use the same charger?

Re: Troubleshooting question
I wouldn't even bother with. Good quality brushed esc's can be found dirt cheap these days.
EDIT: you got your post in before me.

Re: Troubleshooting question
NiCd chargers wont charge NiMh batteries properly so you will need a new charger too if you make the switch.
