KO Propo EX-10 Helios glitching

Post by joel45acp »

I have this radio with the 302 and 301 receivers and out of the four, three glitch at a range of about 100 with antenna extended fully. I've tried channels 62,63,65,71,89 and all three receivers do the same thing. One of the receivers has no issues what so ever. The receivers are in a B3, T2 and TQ10 running a HK 35, 45 and 60A ESC with a D3 13.5 and a Team Powers 9.5 on the T2. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Sometimes the receiver antenna can break on the inside. The outside can look brand new but still can be broken on the inside. Try to replace one antenna and see if it makes it better. It is a rather easy soldering job.

I think I figured out the issue. I made a "glitch buster" out of a capacitor and plugged it to the receiver. So far, no glitching. I'll check the antenna too. Thanks for the insight.

Last time my EX10 FM glitched, I sent it back to Helger (KO UK) - they found that the module pin rack (in the radio, not in the module) had started unsoldering itself from the board, they fixed it and my Helios' now worked like new since... it was about 5 or 6 yrs ago. I've had my Helios since 2002 now - only guy left at the track still using FM

In other words - if it started glitching, send it back, they will fix it for like $50. Still better than smashing a car into a wall because of a glitch. if it glitches with all receivers, and all electronics, and your controller's BEC are strong enough, chances are it's the TX ;)
