What did you do to polish up the motor?

Thanks gomachav! I still like your black 12i. It looks right to me.

To polish up the motor can I used fine steel wool dipped in Mother's metal polish. After cleaning off all the gunk with the steel wool and polish I used plain paper towels to polish out the impurities. I'm not sure why, but paper towels work much better than cloth for polishing metal. I just kept polishing until I was satisfied. It's still not perfect, but I can live with it. It runs great too! If you look on page three of my 12E resto you can see some of the stuff I use for metal polishing.

 Thanks Charlie! I hope to get the IFS together by the end of the week. It had some kind of grease smeared on it which yellowed pretty good. I'm thinking one more week of soaking in peroxide out in the sun should do it. The shock will get the polish treatment and full rebuild. I like my cars sleek and clean. Can't wait!

With the exception of a body this car is done! I ran it in our conference room at work last night and had a blast! Really couldn't open up the throttle on it as there's just not enough room up there ,but the difference between this car and the 12e is obvious. The handling is impressive and she has a tight turn radius thanks to that IFS up front.

Here she is!

Never! That gives me the chills just thinking about it. This car will probably never touch the ground or carpet again after this.

I just picked up this parts car for my carbon fiber 12e experiment. I found a track that runs 1/12 races so I need a runner now. I think half of it's junk but it has some good parts I can use like the rear axle and motor mounts. Might try an experiment by adding a front suspension like you did.
