Good to know Reg. Would be cool to find a pair of matching fronts.
Thanks Lowry! The anno guy said the Hard anno comes off just as easy as the regular using the same stripper.

I can vouch for that. That's why I had to have my worlds car re-anodized. I accidently removed half the anno off the chassis/front plate, and all the anno off the motor plate and shock caps while cleaning with degreaser. It was a tough lesson learned!

jwscab wrote:not that i know of, but you could blacken regular steel pins. they should end up looking like the tie-rods, which are black oxided. If you use stainless pins, you need to use a particular stainless blackening. someone posted a thread about the caswell black oxide kit with good results. Not a very hardy coating, but it lasts if not beat up too much.

I tried the regular(non stainless) black oxide treatment from Caswell on the stock hinge pins without any luck. What are the stock pins made of? They're magnetic for sure.

the hinge pins could be chrome plated, unobtanium coated, or even a mild stainless(that would be magnetic). That would affect how well the blackening process would work.

The chassis alone is a work of art, but that is ONE GOO--UUUD looking Viper! Is the color a basic orange or a mix to match up to the anodizing? Also, where did you pull the number 8 from, a stock car set or something? I like it.

6 to midnight eh...

I'm not sure of the paint color or the #8 as I bought it already done up this way from another member last year. I do think I'll mess around with the decals somewhat. I liked the paint scheme so much I had it sorta mimicked on the body I used on my RPM build.

Thanks again Sofa for the matching set of front tires! Very unique. Also toyed around with removing the side decals, but looks a little plain with nothing. Need some ideas...
