Tire?

Post by MattyCJ7 »

I'm rebuilding my 90 RC10 team car and I'm looking for advice on tires for hard surfaces (asphalt, packed dirt) that will fit on the original rims. Thanks

This is easy, there are many current tires that could/will work..BUT

Not for the original rims, that is the hard part. Asphalt only, check into the Custom Works tires, not sure how they would do on dirt (other than a nice clay oval :) )

The CW tires should work on the rears but I don't believe the fronts will work.

A lot of people use the 2.1" spiked from Traxxas and the 2.0" step-pins from Losi on the old one-piece dish wheels but I don't know how those will run on your surfaces.

The fronts in the soft HB compound will stretch over the 2.1 rims, the rear wheels won't fit, but the tires sure do 8)

The CW front tires aren't too wide for the team car front wheels?

Kinda, but just like installing current tires on the Duratrax Evader (B2 clones) the tire is wider than the rim, but as long as the bead is seated and glued the tire (with foam) will conform.
