Nope, I didn't get the body,that was the only thing missing. I'll be on the hunt for one though, I don't really want to run it much without one. I'll keep my eyes on eBay and see if I can pick one up. It did come with a NIP MIP aluminum CVD kit though and that's a good thing, since it's missing one of the dog bones. I'll install those in the next few days. As for the roto start, I saw on some other forums about people also complaining about the cheap pull starter and a few people recommended it. Looks like it would cost around $40.00 for the kit and that's not bad since a new pull starter is $20.00 to replace it. I guess you can still find them? not sure though.

I would use Byrons Race 2000 20%

Make sure you pull out the white carb restrictor and tune, should go very fast! Pull start should work well as long as you don't try to pull it when it's hydro locked!

Thanks for the info on the fuel and that carb restrictor, I'll check that out. Going to get some fuel for it tomorrow and I'll let you know how it runs. Also thanks for trying to help me find a body, I didn't see much out there. I'm keeping my eyes on eBay and hoping to find a used one already painted, it doesn't have to be pretty. Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it.

You can make it work but it's a little short! It's for the early tub chassis version!

I'm not sure if the GT2 body will fit? I thought the rear tower was in a different location and different rear mount, anyone know if it will work?

Well I went down and got some fuel for the GT today and it runs like a champ. Not as fast as I thought it would be though, I'll have to look into removing that carb restrictor and doing some tuning to it. Any suggestions on how I should go about tuning it? I've never tuned one of these before. Now I need a body for sure, I found a cool local hobby shop where I purchased the fuel, this guy has a pile of bodies. When I have time, I'll go over there and dig through them and see if he has one that will fit or not.

I've been watching youtube for days now just trying to get a feel for what running a nitro would be like and to learn as much as I can about them. But, the guys here on RC10Talk.com are awesome, some seem to be walking RC car encyclopedia's with a wealth of information. These guys have helped me along with so much, this is the first place I run to when I need help. The GT is great, I'm sitting here smelling of nitro fuel as I type and I'm sure I have thoroughly pissed off all my neighbors on this nice Sunday afternoon by running the GT up and down the street 100 times. But sometimes, it's all about me and the need for RC speed...

From my experience with the GT (pretty much from day one with either the Dudgeon or the original GT) the biggest problem with the trucks was balancing rear grip with a reasonable (OK, semi reasonable) (OK, huge) amount of horsepower. The .12 engines always produced LOTS of power and therefore finding LOTS of rear grip was always an issue. Hence the restrictor - to settle the little feller down to a dull roar.... on dirt where it was designed to be run.

AND, keeping with most of our philosophy that fast is good, stupid fast is even better hooking these trucks up ON DIRT was a nightmare! And, I honestly believe that if we had the tire compounds available to us then that we have today the GT class would still be flourishing.... BUT, in my opinion, it's unlikely to return and these vehicles should be preserved and cherished for the ground breaking vehicles that they are...
