The 9650 is rather expensive though. Get a Hitec 225MG (metal gears), which should be about half the price of the Futaba 9650...illshou wrote:Plain old servo will fit but i was running a futaba9650. I ran mine on a carpet banked oval up until last season, it was compeditive with the modern 12r5 actually.
a normal one wont fit very well at all. and if your going to race it, all of the tracks I have seen they are running lipo's and 17.5 brushless in the 12scales. ita a little much I think. mine with a 4 cell and brushed was a missle.styarr wrote:okay thanks guys, i have a hong nor normal sized fast servo sitting spare from my x1cr, im guessing it will fit a 12th ? and are there any sites to get 4 decent cheapish 3300 cells from ?

Talk about a missle, i ran mine on a 13.5 with a 1 lipo at our last race. lapped the field every 3 or 4 lapsbearrickster wrote:a normal one wont fit very well at all. and if your going to race it, all of the tracks I have seen they are running lipo's and 17.5 brushless in the 12scales. ita a little much I think. mine with a 4 cell and brushed was a missle.styarr wrote:okay thanks guys, i have a hong nor normal sized fast servo sitting spare from my x1cr, im guessing it will fit a 12th ? and are there any sites to get 4 decent cheapish 3300 cells from ?

Not very well, probably why the front of the chassis is split now.bearrickster wrote:how did you control itmine was almost uncontrolable with a 27 turn
Yes, but you're better off with its metal-geared version (225MG, has ball bearings and metal gears). Apparently the plastic-geared version can strip fairly easily if you hit something or use the wrong servo-saver.styarr wrote:soooo servo's, will a hitec 225bb mini servo fit ? Dimensions 32x17x31mm
