RCH oval conversion kit.
Hi All
Have a few questions about a conversion kit I found.
It's an RCH oval conversion kit.
Anybody ever heard of it?
Anybody use one back in the day?
Any pics of one built?
I will ad a pic later of the kit I have.
Thanks
Mike

Re: RCH oval conversion kit.
Not a CNY/PA area kit that I have ever heard of. Dirtoval stuff is funny, what was run in NorCal was way different than SoCal which was.way different than Indiana and Illinois which was way different than NY and PA- probably why it never gained more ground...

Re: RCH oval conversion kit.
I've seen the ads for the conversion in old magazines...I'll scan one and post it later.
There was a complete kit that sold on ebay last year, and just a chassis a few years ago. The chassis is really wide with a nerf wing shape, and I think it uses aluminum braces to connect the nose to the rear bulkhead.

Never heard of it, but the oval conversions are my favorite variations of the RC10 overall. I look forward to seeing it.LTO_Dave wrote:I've seen the ads for the conversion in old magazines...I'll scan one and post it later.

Wonder why they picture the Optima chassis upside down?
Looks sweet though.

Re: RCH oval conversion kit.
Here's the pics, sorry it took so long camera software issues.
I think I have most of the hardware, problem is the bag had a few holes in it.
When I get a chance I will try to figure out how to scan and upload the manual and color ad, it has parts listed on the back.
Pretty neat piece of RC10 history.
Have them for the Optima too, will put the pics of it on the Kyosho forum in a day or 2.
Wonder they matched up?
Enjoy the pics.

Very nice! Love the catalog, too! Are you going to build this?
What material are those chassis braces made of? They almost look like a fiberglass camping tent frame.

Re: RCH oval conversion kit.
Not sure if I will build it or not, have a lot of projects in front of it.
The braces do look like fiberglass, the Optima kits have them also.
I've been searching to find a pic of an rc10 or an Optima with the kit, haven't found any yet.

Love that we used my last racing body in the add. I had a second body with same paint scheme I ran on my Landgraf car....
