Kyosho Mooneyes Street Van......

Post by Brandon G »

Just picked this up the other day, super stoked about it!

Lots of cool stuff going on here... more like a 1/9th scale than 1/10th.

I look forward to finishing and laying some paint down.

Looks sweet! Was that one of the ones I linked a few weeks ago from eBay? I can't wait to see it with the signature Moon Disks on the wheels. 8)

That's the one with the QRC, right? I love it. Like a lunchbox, but even cooler!

Here are a few ideas...instead of box-arting it, leave a small shape of Lexan unpainted to look like one of those groovy boogie-van rear side "mood windows", like a teardrop or porthole-shaped window, and get a buddy to airbrush a little mural on the sides & back. I suggest something involving a scantily-clad Amazon woman with a dragon or giant wolf. 8)

That is one killer looking rc! If it had been electric powered I probably would have bid on it. I'm trying to limit my colection in some way so it doesn't get out of control...I mean, MORE out of control.

That is super cool. 8)

I've never seen as clear and detailed pics of one before as you took. I had to stop myself from buying the one off of eBay which was difficult.

Interesting...the chassis looks like a cross between a SuperTen and a PureTen. Was it used on any other cars?

This thing really resembles a 1/8th scale buggy more than anything else. I need to take a pic of it next to a 1/10 buggy to relate the size difference.

I don't know about a mural on the side, but I do like the idea of a teardrop window. Where in the world would I find something like that though? Maybe cut down a small Lexan airplane canopy or something....

You wouldn't need anything. The body's already Lexan. So, just mask off a little "boogie-van window" in whatever shape you like, and when you're done painting your body color, remove the mask and paint a silver border around it, and you're done--a groovy mood window on each side panel near the back! 8)

I daresay the box-art for this van is butt-ugly... :?

Well, can't please everybody I guess. I like the box art personally. That is the way I planned on finishing it.
