brushless rc10
i have an old goldpan rc10 and i was wondering what you guys would suggest changing and what i should change to if im going to put my venom brushless esc and 3300kv motor in this beautiful car,and im not usually one to argue with a good thing but i have the slowest car out of all my friends at my friends track and so when i get that new motor put in i should be able to destroy them, also money is definately an object

Re: brushless rc10
Put a well built Stealth trans in it. A brushless set-up will melt that 6-gear in a heartbeat!

Do, or do not! There is no 'try'!
RC; Boats, Buggies, Trucks, Bash's, Racing and of course 'VINTAGE'!

Re: brushless rc10
Not necessarily. Most of these speed controls have so many adjustments that they can be made to have the power of any brushed motor. Adjust the initial power way down, retard the timing if possible, any many controllers let you limit the total power also. Then enjoy the maintenance free long run times brushless offers. I have a Castle 5700kv in my sons T4. When he was learning I had it set up so it was not much more powerful than a stock motor. Now it is wide open though.Jedi Master wrote:Put a well built Stealth trans in it. A brushless set-up will melt that 6-gear in a heartbeat!

Re: brushless rc10
I have a low power brushless in my gold pan with the 6 gear. No problems at all. It is a 3000kv and I have the power curve pretty easy so it doesn't give crazy torque. I do get hour plus run times and much faster speeds and acceleration than stock. I wasn't looking to go 40mph + so this works great. Hobby Partz kit plus the $30 2.4ghz radio and it feels like a new car. So much better than the old radio and stock electronics.Jedi Master wrote:Put a well built Stealth trans in it. Re: brushless rc10
Isn't putting a brushless into goldpan totally missing the point !?!?

Re: brushless rc10
not necessarily. There are those out here that still use these for what they were intended to do...build them, run them, then fix themloftfind wrote:Isn't putting a brushless into goldpan totally missing the point !?!?
