New Toy
New Toy
Got these in a trade recently, still trying to decide which to restore & which to run.. maybe run both? Hoping we have vintage racing in the area, although I'm not sure the XXX4 falls into "vintage."
Where's a good source for XXX4 info? How's parts availability?
thanks,
Mike

Re: New Toy
So how does the XXX4 respond to a brushless conversion? Can the tranny handle it, etc.?
thanks,
Mike

Re: New Toy
Plus losi ran the XXX-4 at the worlds! If you check out Oople, they still have the coverage up. Many were running with the new TLR 22 Shocks, and the new machined shock towers.

Re: New Toy
Up untill just a few years ago, I was running the XXX-4 with a 5.5 BL and LiPo. I am sure it will be just fine. -Jeff

Re: New Toy
I put a brushless combo out of the TLR22 (13.5T motor and little esc). Handles that fine, however if you use full brakes the motor stops so strong that you can hear the belt skipping teeth.
I also ran a sidewinder 5700 in it on 3S, it was absolutely rediculously fast but I was afraid something was going to give in the drivetrain. Held up for the pack I ran through it though...

Every XXX4 I have ever seen run sounds like that on the brakes

Re: New Toy
I don't have any experience with the XXX4 and not MUCH with the XX4, but could the "skipping" sound you describe actually be the spur gear setup. It clicks when going in the wrong direction.Charlie don't surf wrote:huminski wrote: if you use full brakes the motor stops so strong that you can hear the belt skipping teeth.
