If it's got two o-rings it's a Kyosho Gold. Spring cup looks Kyosho too....Duratrax was flat.

I opened it up and observed two red o-ring at the bottom of the shock body.

Definately Kyosho. Has long lower tie rod ball cup, with AE steel ball, red notched piston, cracked diaphragm, and 30wt brown oil. LMK if you need anything else. -Jeff

How practical would it be to use Kyosho Golds for a runner? Are bladders, and o-rings readily available for rebuilds...and are there modern springs or pistons that can be used?
I picked some up in a couple of eBay lots and was wondering if it would be more cost effective to just flip them then use the funds towards the purchase of new shocks.

Well, the shocks perform better without bladders. Typically you would just cut out the bladder section, and use the outer ring as a seal. The o-rings are a std. 3mm size, so they are easily attainable. The other rebuild parts are avaible too. Plastic parts, clips, etc., (I have a rather large stash as a matter of fact (e-bay as well)) are not that hard to pick up. THe biggest issue is the shafts. IF you bend or breat one of them, they are hardder to find (but not impossible). -Jeff
