Battery charging questions

Post by savageRC10 »

I have an RC10 gold pan that i believe is close to stock. It has an Associated motor that has a blue sticker wrapped around it. It doesn't have reverse. I want reverse! My hobby shop said it's not possible.

I'm thinking all i need is a speed control with reverse.

I am not interested in keeping the buggy stock.

I am willing to learn.

My car lasts about 15 mins just up and down the road on pavement with 7.2v.

You need a new electronic speed control and a newer battery. There are a lot of options so do your homework!

^^^YEAH THIS!!!^^^

If you can afford brushless right off the bat, they can be programmed to do fwd/brk OR fwd/brk/rev. Very handy. Plus they are faster and more energy efficient which means your batteries will last even longer.

Your brushed motors will require an esc that is designed for them and getting new esc will leave few options. Duratrax still makes brushed esc's at a decent price but it you want more speed and reverse see if you can track down a used Tekin Rebel. It handles motors down to 10 turns!! And that gold pan will have plenty of room for it.
