As stated above, it's not a TQ10, but I think that's a real diamond in the rough. I'd tear it down, finish dying(white parts)and maybe re-dying all those red parts, strip that motor plate and maybe paint it black. If you really want to do it right, have the motor plate ano'd or powder coated black. I think that graphite chassis with red parts will look real sharp once it's properly cleaned and detailed. Maybe reassemble with red hardware.

So how do you tell the diffrance in the 2? I am still happy with the car. So maybe I jumped the gun in thinking it was a tq10. After I read somewhere the tq10 came with red plastic instead of white and saw tq on the front tires I got carried away. Yes my plans are to go with the red and black theam to include a custom painted black and red body. Kinda bummed but still excited about the project. So d y'all think the parts where dyed or aftermarked molded red? Would these parts be off a gold pan because the steering components look a lot diffrent then my rc10 graphite.

Ok I see the diffrance the tq10 has a shinier look and the sides cut in sharper at the front are what I see right off hand. So I will stop refering to it as a tq10. I admit it when I am ignorant. That's why I am here any way to learn about these cars. This is only my second rc10. I honestly thank you guys for you info and guidance. Might still build as a shelf queen. I want to race one of them though. Not really wanting tho race the graphite though the chassis botom hardley has a scratch on it. What one would you guys build as a shelf queen? Maybe put my red parts on the graphite? Ok I am getting excited again about it. I got the now reffered to as the "red one"for the amazingly low price of free. The graphite was 50.00 as a roller back in 97 with a widebody 80's camaro body. Sorry I get carried away sometimes when I start typing

I believe that's an MIP graphite chassis. Personally I like it better than the TQ10 chassis. The TQ10 graphite would peel off in a strip the entire length of the chassis if it got damaged. The TQ10 also had the shorter front arms. The arms on yours will perform better in most situations.

MIP never offered any chassis for the RC10. The early TQ10 came with short arms, later versions with long front a-arms. Looks like a Composite Craft/Parma/Traxxas chassis to me.

That's why I rarely offer brand information. Bored at work though, so I just have to post something.

Ok so far the plan is to keep the red rc10 red and rebuild the graphite with white parts. I can't wait to see the red one with a red and black body. Any one know where I can get red anodized hardware? Or do I needto find some one that will do it locally? And once again thankyou for all the info and ideas.

After waffling over the last week or so when this appeared on craigslist, I went and bought it today. The owner knew the market for them but didn't want to go the ebay route, so he was firm on price. I paid less than $200 for it at least, but it was...

Don't worry, the car will live on and be well taken care of, but first she has to sacrifice some parts I need.
So I got another awesome deal today, this time it's an RC10GT. It came complete with everything needed to run and a few extra parts still NIP. So are these gas trucks hard to maintain? I've never owned anything Nitro before. Also the pull start...
Ok this is my vintage rc10 graphite. Question is what version is it? When I bought it used it was being used as a widebody road car. I ran it with a widebody 65 mustang on asphalt tracks with a tekkin speed star and a 10 turn triple back in the late...

Update! Just disovered oldrc.com . My chances of rebuilding the graphite just went up. Ha ha!
I bought an RC10 a long time ago, played with it for awhile and then forgot about it. It got unearthed again while cleaning the basement and other than a battery that leaked in the remote, all was good and I started playing with it again with my...

Swung by my local shop to get some help figuring out what my next car (truck) will be and a new spur and some fuel line (what they recommended over springs for the dogbones) was only $8 (I'd forgotten how these things nip you to death...).
Trying to get my wife into a AE buggy. We looked at the RC10B4.1 package at Hobbytown tonight. On sale for $245 plus tx. Of all the AE buggies, I like this one the best. Rather have her in a gold pan style buggy but the difficulty in getting parts...

I agree but its nice to dream. My wife is going to get the dodge ram slash 2wd truck RTR package later this week. She wants a truck and didnt like what she could afford from TA. I wish I didnt have to get a new charger, more $$ I have to spend. From...
My first post here. Great site. I picked up a new assembled CE that was put in a box and never used. It was assembled with bushings. I picked up the bearings for it and quickly found out that I lost my 035 allen wrench from years ago. I have tried...

That's an awesome story. The one thing I've always loved about our sport is that mainly it's made up of good people that are willing to help out. I agree with the above post, we need to see some pictures!
The seller shipped it today, I should get it in a few days. I'm not anywhere near knowledgeable enough to be able to identify it accurately from the pics, but it's a black tub chassis, with upgraded arms but includes the original white arms. From...

Looks like you have a mid run thick arm team truck with universals. Also some upgraded RCPS turnbuckles on there.

Rob this is a brilliant start to a very good vintage Yoke racer. I have the same setup on my Dog Fighter. The wider arms are from the 91-93 model (I think) which allow you to run the 2.2inch rims that are floating around from time to time. In my...
