Street setup for rc10 build

Post by njdriver04 »

hey guys can you point me to some informative threads relating to a street setup for the rc10. If this was a 1/1 scale subaru I would be good, that is my area of speciality. hahah.
Mainly concerned about effective setups stay inline with the same geometry as the OE setup, thinking of using a spare front shock setup on the rear but I havent a clue if this can be done effectively. If anyone has 1/1 scale car questions I am happy to help message me. thanks

Sounds like you're looking for a DS type of set-up but not too cost effective to swap a-arms/shock towers/shocks etc at this point as opposed to just buying a DS :(

the beauty of using the DS suspension is fitting under most any current touring car body. leaving the original "wide" buggy suspension will really limit the bodies you can find to keep it looking like a reall street car.

unless you just want a street version of an offroad buggy, then, no issues. I will find the parts from a McAllister oval lowering kit and go to town...uses front shocks all the way around.

If you are just planning on street bashing anything will work. but in general RC10's don't like to "turn" on the street - i.e. understeer

hmm will reconsider putting the front sway bar on,

not worried about the body fitting have something that works for now, thinking of putting a rat rod body on it, kinda fits the build

If you don't care to change the suspension, Custom Works makes decent tires that fit 2.2ish buggy rims - most were designed for dirt oval so you'll need the harder compound version and foam inserts. If you get the softer compound version with inserts of the set you'll blow though quickly on asphalt. 8)

The threads werent looking good on the front suspension mounts, so i used 3/4 crown bolts and put nuts between the pan and the mounts to also lower it a little bit

a ds tower isn't going to bolt up to those arm mounts.
