Iirc the basic kit was $109-119 in the tower catalog. That was without body and electronics. That's the one I bought.

Then I stand by my comment, I paid $109-119 for my original basic kit which was no electronics and no body. The price changed along the way so the early one would have been the $109 but I also remember seeing it go on sale for $99.

I've been going through the '88 to '91 RCCA's PDFs lately, and they all the remaining ads have similar prices: ~$110 for the basic kit up to about $170 for a kit with bearings and 'electrics'.

Just think! If this had not been a limited re-issue prices might have made it down that low within a few months.

Re: street price of an RC10 in 1984
Well, take the sealing iron in the ad for 12.98, today it sells for 19.99 on towers site. Take the $139.99 price, lowest pictures above (but I know I paid $109!) cross multiply and divide.... Gives us about $215 for "inflation." Some with coupons got theirs for that. So I would say we are in the ballpark.
