Does anyone have a good tip for refreshing dried foam tires?
I'm sure this subject has been covered before, but I'm too lazy to search a zillion posts..
I've got an old Traxxas Fiero with mint foam tires, but they're all hard & dry. It's a shelfer, so I'm not worried about traction compounds etc. I don't have any splits or obvious dry rot showing. Is there a practical way to freshen them up and preserve them?

Projects and shelfers:
Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...

I've heard people talk about using suntan lotion to freshen them up a bit. Personally i've only tried it on two foam tires and it didn't seem to make them NEWNEW just, 'ok'.

Try some traction compound. Put it on heavy and let it soak, then rub it into the foams with a rag. I did this recently when I raced my LX-T that wasn't run for probably 12-13 years and was on the original foams. I used some old Racer's Choice TQ compound I still have in my pit box.

I use WD40 on old tyres. I spray them all over then put them in a sealed bags for a couple of days, after that they're pretty soft again. The longer they've been hard, the longer they take to soften
