Novak 4 ESC

Thats a better idea, Just hardwire the motors. Leave the ESC and motor in that certain runner.

I don't have any of the older Deans connectors at all, just whats on the Novak 4.

If I want to swap out some motors, just do some soldering. I have a very good Hakko iron to rely on.

Maybe swap out all the other connections to one standard connection...

Yep, I used those 4 pin Deans back in the day. I used to swap out 2 of the male pins with 2 of the female pins to help further with hooking them up correctly...
I would just use the same style connector on everything; it helps if/when you need to swap batteries, speed controls, motors, whatever between different vehicles...

I too have a bunch of the 4 pin Deans connectors. I have switched my new stuff to the "ultra"plugs. Was the design change to handle the larger amp draws of the newer motors? Anyone know what the max was for the old 4 pin? Are the newer plugs lower resistance? Still trying to figure which to use on my gold pan.

I wish I could answer that for you Mark. I did not use the older style deans plugs really.

I have managed to gather up a few pairs, just to keep one of my Losi rollers period correct. (Like I know what is right??)

I am sure there are a few guys here that will be able to answer that, I will need to know as well.

When they came out, what they were used with, who used them, etc etc.

Hey guys, what can you tell me about this one from Novak?

In the pictures, look for a short bit of wire that is located at the receiver and switch output area. There are two wires, both red, soldered together.

I don't think that part was a stock feature.

Also there is a capacitor or resistor where the yellow shrink wrap is, no idea why. I have not had the chance to look up the value on it yet.

What style/brand of battery connections are those? I remember seeing them years ago, I am not new to this, but I am stumped.

Does anyone know if Novak sold them like this? One of my novak 4's has the same deans and looks like it was wired the same down to the capacitor and shrink wrap colors.( yes I know this is a 13 year old thread) It also had non-twised signal wiring like this one. I am assuming that was done after the fact.

Out of the bag the 4 came with unterminated motor/battery wires. Deans plugs and a capacitor suggest it was used in an adults race car. The two small red wires are for the controllers BEC, connected together for up to 6 cell, unconnected for 7 and up.
