How much motor can you fit in an SRT?

Post by SRTracer121 »

so the SRT weighs in at about 2.5lbs with servo, rx, and tires and well it turns out you can fit a lot of motor in that truck...

traxxas made a graphite set as a hop up item. Can't tell by the pictures though if those are it. I have heard of Composite Craft making a set but have never seen them so as far as I know that is just hearsay. Pry the traxxas aftermarket set. They were showing up on ebay a couple years back but haven't seen too many around lately.

Maybe I made them.

Looks like the Traxxas graphite option parts. Would be easier to tell with a good close-up of the edge of the chassis.

Don't be too sure of that. I think some of Sam's parts have better tolerances than Traxxas used to have 8) . Go do a search on traxxas vintage electric forums for his SRT threads and see  .

Also wouldn't take much for someone to sell what they bought from harry697 once they got tired of it or there wasn't much for vintage classes around them. Most that bought his stuff knew they were good trucks and harder to find. They could easily make their money back on ebay...where optima heavan picks up alot of his 'partsmobiles'. Get up some better close up pix and we'll figure it out for ya.

As far as I know the only rear towers that accepted the T4 body were mine. If so, there are probably only a handful floating around at best. There could be other people making them though.

Like Todd said, if it's a Traxxas original chassis, there's gotta be some sort of obvious defect somewhere. I have a brand new in package SRT upper and lower deck and let's just say whoever was behind the machine must have started Miller Time a little early that day. There are actually a couple pilot holes that are drilled in the wrong spots. Luckily they realized it before the bit went all the way through the chassis, but not before it went halfway through.

Could be a copy. Whenever I make a tower, I screw it to all the mounting holes on a stock tower to make sure. Than again, we're talking about a Traxxas tower, so anything it possible.
